Brittany and Wyatt’s Croatian Adventure

Our Client Corners typically shine the spotlight on the clients at Kemp Financial, but this month we're excited to share some personal news from Wyatt. As many of you know, Wyatt has been a member of the Kemp Financial team for many years, and we’re delighted to announce his recent engagement! Wyatt and his fiancée, Brittany, are overjoyed as they plan their wedding for next May. Luckily, they already had a trip planned that doubled as an engagement celebration.

Wyatt and Brittany, who both have a passion for travel, recently spent a few memorable weeks in Croatia. Brittany, a member of the Orange County Women's Chorus, had the opportunity to take a choir tour through Croatia, and Wyatt was lucky enough to join her for the journey. They even spent an extra week there, just the two of them.

The trip began in Zagreb, Croatia’s political and economic hub. They enjoyed walking tours, visited nearby medieval towns with historic fortress ruins, and immersed themselves in Croatian culture while the Chorus performed a couple of concerts.

Their adventure continued with a breathtaking walking tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of Croatia’s most famous attractions. This stunning park features sixteen lakes linked by waterfalls, promenades, and hiking trails. Each lake’s distinct shades of blue and green were truly awe-inspiring.

Next, they visited the coastal city of Opatija, situated near the top of the Istrian Peninsula. Here, they relaxed on beautiful beaches, explored cities along the Istrian Peninsula, and marveled at a 2,000-year-old Roman arena which is still used for entertainment and concerts. A highlight was witnessing a trained truffle-hunting dog in action in the quaint village of Motovun (Photo and video below!).

The Choir Tour culminated in a beautiful concert finale in a historic church. After most of the Chorus members returned home, Wyatt and Brittany took a short flight to Dubrovnik on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast. They spent a couple days exploring Dubrovnik’s “Old Town,” a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located within an intact medieval fortress.

Their final days in Croatia were spent in Split, another city on the Dalmatian Coast, north of Dubrovnik. From there, they discovered nearby islands and enjoyed refreshing swims in the Adriatic Sea—an absolute necessity in the warm, humid weather.

Their Croatian journey was unforgettable, filled with beautiful landscapes, rich culture, delicious food, and friendly locals. If you ever have the chance to visit, Wyatt highly recommends it!
