What a Wonderful Day for Bocce

On Tuesday June 14th, KFM hosted its first face-to-face event since the pandemic began! While we were limited to 24 participants to fill the courts, we had a great turn out for “Bocce Ball 101”. Thank you to the South Bay Bocce Club for allowing our KFM Family and Friends the opportunity to play on their courts! Judy, Tom, Ed and Bob were not only great instructors, but also great players.

This all started four years ago when the South Bay Bocce Club built three regulation size bocce ball courts with the assistance of the City of Torrance. Our good friend and client, Bob Chiota, was actively involved in getting the courts approved through the City of Torrance.

Ever since its opening, KFM has been wanting to learn to play bocce ball, but the pandemic prevented the opportunity until now. Evident by the smiles on everyone’s faces, it was a fantastic day to play. All of us working folks can’t wait for the day to retire and enjoy weekdays in the park playing bocce!

Rather than each team competing for first place, every individual player had the opportunity to win a first, second or third place trophy presented by the South Bay Bocce Club. Anytime a player made a point, it was tallied by the referee on the court throughout each game. Congratulations to David Kozycz, Lauren Zuniga and Lissa Clarke for earning the most points!

Despite the crummy year thus far in the financial markets, not one “financial” or “market” conversation was had. Instead, the time and excitement was spent enjoying the moment with family and friends. Thank you to all of the clients, family and friends who joined us for bocce!
